Course Summary

You will, no doubt, be well aware of the potentially devastating effects of fires in the workplace in terms of lives lost, injuries, damage to
property and the environment, and to the business continuity. You may also be aware that it is believed that most fires are preventable.
The importance of fire safety in the workplace is underpinned by health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish
policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training.
Successful candidates will be awarded a national level 1 qualification.

  • Maximum of 16 candidates per course
  • 4 hours
  • Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF)
  • The qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures, and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.

• The common causes of fire
• The behaviour of fire
• Legislation (brief) and responsibilities
• Fire prevention
• What to do if a fire breaks out
• How to use fire extinguishers
• Emergency evacuation procedures

A minimum of 4 hours

Upon successful completion of the course, Candidates will be issued with a Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF)

This course is certificated by First Aid Awards (FAA)

A maximum of 16 candidates per course are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age.

The qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures and new
legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.
