Emergency First Aid at Work + Paediatric Element Course Content
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Preventing cross-infection during first aid procedures
- Recording incidents and actions accurately
- Using available first aid equipment effectively
- Assessing situations and responding safely in emergencies
- Performing CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) on adults
- Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Providing first aid to an unconscious casualty (including seizures)
- Assisting a casualty who is choking
- Managing bleeding and wounds
- Treating shock
- Delivering first aid for minor injuries such as:
- Small cuts and grazes
- Bruises
- Minor burns and scalds
- Small splinters
Paediatric-Specific Training:
- Performing CPR on a child/ infant
- Recognising and managing asthma attacks in children
- Recognising and treating anaphylaxis
- Providing first aid to an unconscious child (including seizures)
- Assisting a choking child/infant
